The actual chords Alex plays following the bass line A E A D C# B A is C 5th string on 3rd fret, E 4th string 2nd fret, G 3rd open string, D 2nd string 3rd fret. Keep 3rd and 4th finger in same posn and lower 2nd pinky to G, 3rd fret 6th string and first pinky to B 5th string, 2nd fret and alternate 1st and 2nd pinky between two chords keeping 3rd and 4th pinky same strings.

THANK YOU! My manuals, as well as not explaining that all strings don't have to ring true (why is this such an apparent secret?), also for A major use the 2nd finger but then 3rd & 4th, but don't use the pinky for the rest of the A major etc. chord...which makes the barre even tougher.

I don't know how this vid escaped my attention. I was at that concert and it is a gift to relive the magic of that night. Awesome musicians who are having the times of their lives playing together, with a very appreciative audience in tow. After playing these songs in rehearsal for weeks or months, playing in front of a live audience is bringing them so much joy! Also, Seattle audiences, at least in my experience, are very keen and responsive, which helps.
